On 16th December 2009, Wednesday, at Rao Mohar Singh College of Education, Behrampur, Gurgaon, a four day workshop titled as Employment Skill Development Program was organized by the Training and Placement Cell. The Workshop is organized in collaboration with Academy of Learning Techniques, Research and Training ((ALERT) and the resource person was Mr. Dinesh Kamra, Project Development Manager and an acclaimed soft skills and learning techniques trainer.
The workshop started with the welcome note offered by Mr. Khurshid Rajaka, the management secretary of Rao Mohar Singh College of Education. Mrs. Rajni Kotnala, principal, Rao Mohar Singh College of Education, along with Ms Pooja Yadav, the vice Principal and all the faculty members including Dr. Manisha Taneja, Ms Deepika, Ms. Pinky Saklani, Ms Neeru Gupta, Ms. Shweta, Ms. Poonam, Ms.Kavita Kaim, Ms. Meenakshi Chauhan, Ms. Rekha Mutreja, Ms Rekha Yadav, Ms. Sunita Yadav, Ms. Deeepali Raghav, Ms. Ritika Kaushal and Ms. Himani Kuchhal were present at the occasion.
The workshop started with the thrilling video of Nick, an orthopedically disabled person, who despite of all the adversities, was not actually handicapped just because of his immense will power and superb positive attitude. He is not only living the life of a normal individual, but has also reached the heights of success, difficult to be achieved by others. The presentation touched everybody’s mind and soul.
Then Mr. Kamra initiated the workshop with the help of few interesting activities and interactive sessions. Of the four sessions, the first one was dedicated to FIRST IMPRESSION i.e. how we could have positive first impression on all, whom we meet in our day today life.
He reiterated the cliché that first impression is the last impression and then discussed three factors which play a vital role in making and distorting somebody’s first impression on others. They are- Dressing sense, workplace manners and body language. This interactive and thought provoking session lead the participants to put on their thinking caps and analyze their own personality in terms of these three factors. The interesting session came to an end with the vote of thanks offered by Mrs. Rajni Kotnala, Principal, Rao Mohar Singh College of Education.
